Amazon.com’s Patent Could Affect Online Casinos
The e-commerce vendor, Amazon.com's patented 'one click method’ which
allows online shoppers to purchase books, CDs with just one click after
logging in and claims to dramatically enhance user navigation on a
website could affect online says a lawer. If Amazon.com’s patent is
stretched too far however, it could affect user patterns in online
gambling sites says Bryan Mudge, a partner at Kenyon & Kenyon, a law
firm specializing in intellectual property.
While patents can be a good thing in ensuring that the intellectual
property of the inventor or the company are safe guarded, they can also
have far reaching if stretched too far. While Amazon.com does not offer
or participate in the online gambling segment, it has filed lawsuits
against few websites who Amazon claimed had infringed on its patents.
