As reported, Ralph Reed recently opened his heart to the citizens of
Georgia and discussed his past transgressions "squarely and
forthrightly." Well, not really. Well. Not at all.
It's quite a story. But before we begin, let's get some background.
Without that, you wouldn't be able to appreciate Reed's narrative
genius.
In 1999 and then again in 2001, Abramoff hired Reed's firm Century
Strategies on behalf of two tribes (the Mississippi Choctaw and
Louisiana Coushatta) with casino operations. Century Strategies
specializes in delivering the Christian grassroots, and here they were
hired to kill rival casinos to the Choctaw and Coushatta in Alabama and
Texas, respectively. Reed's firm was paid over $5M for the work.
