As reported by the Naples Daily News: "Three Lee County men pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Fort Myers on Tuesday in what federal prosecutors are calling the largest illegal sports gambling ring in Lee County's history.

"They said they could provide inside information on the outcome of sporting events and, for a fee, would recommend which teams to bet on.

"Joseph A. DiLorenzo, 43, of Estero; William J. Gebig, 32, of Estero; and Daniel Thomas Biancullo, 41, of Fort Myers, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transmit wagering information.

"…DiLorenzo, Gebig, and Biancullo were charged with conspiracy to transmit wagering information by interstate and foreign wire and to operate an illegal gambling enterprise. The men — who, the U.S. Attorney's Office said, worked for Player's Edge Inc. and National Sports Consultants Inc. in Fort Myers — are accused of advertising for and receiving money for gambling advice and referring clients to specific offshore gambling casinos that then provided money back to Player's Edge and National Sports Consultants.
