Online Poker Tournament Gives Away $1 Million
The largest online poker prize was recently awarded at the culmination of
Paradise Pokers $1 million online poker tournament. In what started as a
satellite tournament of over 4,000 players on Paradise Poker's site, finalized
with nine players battling it out at the final table. Online casinos
usually hold satellite tournaments leading up to high profile events, such as
the World Poker Tour Tournaments. However, Paradise kept this one under
their own belt, and just let amateur players win free rolls who were members of
their online family.
The winner of the $1 million pot went to a chef from the U.K, while the other
eight players all resided in the U.S. It was an exciting match to say the least,
with the showdown leading up to the final hand turning out to be very exciting.
The crowd watching the game was in on the action the whole time, and kept the
energy of the tournament going strong. A Paradise spokesperson commented
that this was the largest poker prize ever to be awarded a single player, and
that the online poker room will continue to hold many of these tournaments in
the near future.
All finalists were awarded an all-expenses-paid vacation to Costa Rica with a
companion, which left all players in a good mood after being eliminated one by
one. As is the case at many online casinos, there are usually several
winners in a single tournament, since there is so much money generated by all
the players who are in the competition. Certainly, other online casinos
have taken note of Paradise Poker's generous jackpot, and will probably be doing
all they can to compete with it in the near future.
